Biography of Roy Kuan, WG’95

Roy Kuan is a Partner at CVC Capital Partners, the international private equity firm. CVC is one of the five largest private equity firms in the world and manages over US$23 billion in funds. Since 1981, CVC has completed approximately 230 investments across a diverse range of industries. CVC funds have acquired businesses such as Formula 1, Debenham’s (UK), the Danish Post, the Belgian Post, and the Automotive Association (UK). CVC has completed 24 buyout transactions in the Asia Pacific region. Its most recent investments include Skylark in Japan (US$3.3 billion), PBL Media in Australia (US$4.4 billion) and DCA in Australia (US$2 billion).

Mr. Kuan is responsible for CVC’s activities in the Asia region ex. Japan. He has been in the private equity industry for 12 years and has completed investments in China, Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia. He has a B.A. from Georgetown University, and an MBA from the Wharton School. He is married with two children and resides in Hong Kong.
