Biography of Dr. Hellmut Kirchner

Dr. Hellmut Kirchner has over 30 years of experience in venture capital and private equity, commencing in 1974 in the position as a project manager at DEG (Deutsche Entwicklungsgesellschaft) in Cologne. After his work with Münchner Rück (Munich Re), Dr. Kirchner established the venture capital business inside the Matuschka Group in 1978. In 1983 Dr. Kirchner became co-founder and was managing director of TVM Techno Venture Management, the leading German venture capital institution, until 1989.

He has long standing experience in direct investments of emerging businesses, especially in the biotechnology and life science area, associated with a membership in various advisory- and supervisory boards.

He studied law and business in Munich, Germany, and Lausanne, Switzerland.
